Master Clock's Occupation - Provide Accuracy and Organization

The word master clock insinuates many things for an individual who has never heard of the device. For one, the fact that there is a "master" clock suggests that there is a clock more superior than the clock we all know that hangs on the walls of our building. The word master also suggests control, meaning it plays a necessary part in an elaborate system. Many will gather this much about the master clock from just hearing its name, but what does the master clock actually do?

The master clock only cares about one thing-providing accuracy and organization for the facility in which it's installed. Take schools for example. The organization required to get students in and out of class, back and forth from busses, and to and from sports events and standardized testing procedures is highly dependent on the school's master clock. Without the master, the school's wall clocks would not stay synchronized and accurate, the bells would not ring on schedule, and many other functions strictly reliant on accurate time would not be properly executed.

Hospitals function in a similar way with the master clock. If accurate and consistent time displays are not present on every single clock in the facility, disarray can occur. Nurses may distribute medication at the wrong time. Doctors could show up late to surgery. When these professionals receive the wrong time from a clock they've preconceived to be correct, accidents happen and mistakes are made. The master's main function in the hospital is to make sure those time displays are consistent and employees within the building are not under false pretenses of which clocks are correct and which are not.

The corporate offices of America operate in a similar fashion as well. Here in the States, business is fast-paced and on-point. Professionals are always on the move, especially when in a sales or marketing position. Meetings are scheduled and expected to occur on-time, which is even more important when traveling to meet with other professionals external from the company. When incorrect time displays are scattered among the office, business men and women are put at risk for showing up late to these meetings. They might not get out the door fast enough to meet with some clients in the next town over. Meetings internal to the company don't start on-time due to the late stragglers that show up five minutes late-all because the clock in the lunch room said they had an extra five minutes available before the meeting. In this case, the master clock's ability to synchronize all those clocks in the office is of unparalleled importance.

Without a doubt, the master clock's occupation to keep accuracy and organization in the aforementioned facilities is beyond important. The professionals that move in and out of these facilities every day, expecting to be able to perform their job correctly and professionally are significantly hindered when the clocks don't match. So, when hearing the word "master clock", the information gathered from just the name, while providing an idea of its function, shows only a fraction of the overall description and meaning as described above.

How Smart Glass Works

Technology has changed the way that we function. We see this in our daily lives with the use of cellular and solar technology. We can see this in our architecture as well. With the use of smart glass we can create new multi-functional spaces. There has always been a high value on space; what is this new technology and how can it help you maximize your world?

Smart Glass: more than a pane of glass this is a structure in which liquid crystal molecules are surrounded by electroconductive foil and suspended between two thin glass panes. The foil controls how the crystal molecules are arranged. The crystal molecules can be set so that they either let light pass through the two panes of glass or they appear opaque.

Not only is this new glass amazing to look at, it is functional in your home or office. This technology can be used in many ways to increase your quality of life.
In windows to eliminate the use of curtains and lower the dust mite count in your home leaving you with cleaner air.
Electrically switchable for ease of different settings.
Low-maintenance so you can spend more time enjoying your home than cleaning it.
Maximize space while maintaining the ability to make a public space private.

In an Office: You can have the look of an open office while still being able to have private meetings. Utilize smart glass technology as walls for cubicles which can remain transparent when not in use and quickly turn opaque when the need for discretion is called for.

At Home: Use smart glass walls to frame a dining room. You can look out at your backyard on nice evenings. However, if you are looking to add privacy from the neighbors you can do so with the touch of a button. In a family room a smart glass wall can create a window when translucent or projection screen when opaque.

For Special Collections: If you have a favorite collection house it in a case made of glass. You will be able to see your treasured items when the glass is transparent and protect them from deterioration by the sun by making the glass opaque. In this application your collection and the glass become art.

Smart glass technology is part of the new era of architecture, chosen for both the efficiency of its use and its design aesthetic.

High-tech smart glass has a beautiful appearance that that can be switched on or off as often as you like. The electrically-controlled change between opaque and transparent quality paves the way for flexible, multi-functional uses for every room.

The Basics Of 3D Printing

3D printing is a very fascinating form of manufacturing technology in my opinion. This technology allows for the creation of virtually anything! This form of manufacturing revolves around CAM, or computer aided manufacturing. This means that if a design can be created on a computer, it can be carried out and manufactured through the system within a 3D printer. Quite a few intricate parts can be designed through 3D software. Very organic curves, shapes, and hollow spaces can come about through this technology. Unlike machining, mold manufacturing, and other traditional forms of manufacturing, 3D printing creates products and pieces layer by layer - one small section at a time. These layers can be as small as 12 microns in some situations. The diameter of a human hair is around the size of 40 microns. That is pretty small!

The levels of detail are huge throughout 3D printing. Sure, there is quite a bit of variation, but some seriously detailed products can come about through 3d printing. Like I mentioned earlier, computer aided manufacturing systems within 3D printers can create models from computer designs, and computer designs can include a wide variety of intricate shapes.

Remember how I mentioned that 3D printing creates products layer by layer? This layer by layer process allows for the creation of super intricate, curved, and organic pieces. Hollow spaces, functional parts, and phenomenal pieces like a ball within a ball can come into existence through the technology known as 3D printing.

What does this mean in the manufacturing world? Well, we can produce virtually anything through 3D printing. If it can be designed on a computer, it can likely be produced. These productions can be made in seriously high levels of details.

Another interesting aspect of 3D printing would be the variety of materials that exist within this technology. There are quite a few material types to choose from; in fact, there are over 60! There is usually a specific material or two offered for almost every need in the manufacturing world. For mechanical parts, materials such as stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel exist to help. These metals can hold their own when withstanding heart, and offer great strength. Materials such as full color sandstone offers full color (believe it or not). Some artists have created intricate designs of character models. These models can feature an actual face! 3D scanning has been used to intercept the dimensions of faces and body parts, and 3D printing has been used to replicate these parts. Pretty serious right?

Precious metals also exist throughout 3D printing. Materials such as gold, platinum, sterling silver, and fine silver exist in this manufacturing world. Wax casting is also used quite a bit throughout the world of 3D printing. This technology essentially involves the creation of highly detailed wax pieces, and these pieces are then used within casting to create jewelry, and small detailed pieces.

Overall, there is quite a bit that 3D printing can do within the manufacturing world. There are tons of possibilities! Like I mentioned earlier, if a model can be created on a computer, it likely can be created on a 3D printer - out of one of over 60 materials!

Why CG Artists Are Making Bank

Making money online is definitely a craved topic across the web. So is contracting in a wide variety of industries. Let me discuss the entrepreneurial side of 3D design, and manufacturing through 3D printing. I'm talking about designing products, and creating them on a small scale for profit! Many people are already doing this and generating plenty of success. Let's discuss the actual process behind 3D modelers, people who use 3D printers, and people who use 3D printing services.

CG artists have been freelancing for years. The movie industry has been using them since Jurassic Park 2, and video games have been using artists since the start of video games! The graphics behind a wide variety of industries are powered through the actual designing of... artwork. Someone has to generate the work, and that's where CG artists can come in to make money online. That is the conventional way for artists to make some money contracting, but there are creative ways for them to generate some serious income!

First off, 3D printing is a form of manufacturing technology which allows for the creation of virtually any shape in one of over 60+ materials. This basically means that some artists and engineers can manufacture certain products in almost any shape. There are a wide variety of feats and applications within 3D printing, and people are definitely exploiting them. CG artists can play a role within the 3D printing world in a variety of ways, particularly in an entrepreneurial way. First off, designers can simply contract their services out for creating 3D printable models. Blatantly offering to design products that will be manufactured is popular. Aside from that, I want to discuss a different way for artists to make money.

3D printing service companies really give artists their own kind of freedom when creating revenue. Artists will work to create products that can be manufactured. These products will fulfill a few "design rules" when it comes to making pieces, but overall they will simply upload their models to various service companies like Shapeways or Sculpteo. These models will be sold to consumers, as 3D printable objects. These objects will arrive at the consumers' doorstep in a 3D printed finished piece. At the same time, designers will receive a certain commission off of each sale if he or she chooses to do so. This means that artists can essentially open up their own stores, offering goods to be made through 3D printing, and shipped to various consumers. There is definitely money to be made in that aspect.

Finally, many artists are taking over another way to use 3D modeling to make money in conjunction with 3D printing. Some artists will create the 3D models for various products. With these models, artists will have them made through 3D printing. Perhaps they will use their own 3D printer, or they will use a 3D printing service to have the products produced. Then, artists will sell them on various websites like Etsy, eBay, Craigslist, or locally. This allows artists to sell art pieces, knick-knacks, jewelry, etc to various consumers on a whole new level.

Auto Dealers Are Using Social Media to Reach Out and Manage New Consumers

As the effectiveness of traditional advertising methods (traditional methods include print advertising and TV advertising) are called into question more and more dealerships are turning to digital methods for promoting their dealerships. One of those digital methods is the use of social media sites. With so many social media networks out there, it can be easy for dealerships to get overwhelmed by the prospect of creating a social media strategy. But ignoring its power to reach out to consumers is a mistake dealerships can't afford to make.

Connect With Your Consumers
A powerful aspect of social media is the ability to connect with consumers. An important thing to remember when using this media to connect with consumers is that consumers are not looking for things to be sold while on these networks. Rather they are looking for deeper relationships and connections with the brands they connect with.

While dealerships are connecting with consumers on social networks, it is important to keep in mind who their audience is. An article in business2community.com suggests that while reaching out to consumers, the best way for dealerships to connect is to first connect with their current consumers. These consumers have already purchased a good or service from them and are already familiar with their brand. Once they have reached out to current consumers, then it is time to reach out to potential consumers. While connecting with potential consumers, it is important to remember that the quality of followers is better than quantity. A dealership reaching out to three local consumers who will interact with and, in turn hopefully promote their brand are better than 1,000 followers who like or follow a dealer's social media page and do nothing else.

Business2Community also suggests that if dealerships are having trouble gaining new followers, they should offer small incentives for consumers who engage with their social media page or pages. This is a simple yet effective tactic that allows dealerships to gain new followers who will actively engage with their brand.

Which Site is Right For Your Dealership?
Not all social media sites are created equally, and as such it is not as important for dealerships to be on every site. If a dealer's strategy is to foster an online community where people can have a common place to talk about the dealership and share experiences, then Facebook is the place they'll want to be. If a dealership simply wants to push content and information about their dealership, while fostering interactions with said content, then Twitter is their site. If a dealer wants to post photos of their inventory for their consumers to see, then Pinterest - a mostly visual social media network - is their answer.

Though, the best strategies for dealerships should include the use of some sort of combination of social media sites, which are used to reach out to consumers. According to Mongoose Metrics, 22% of dealerships already use both Facebook and Twitter in their strategies.

Instant Communication
Quite possibly the most powerful aspect of this media is the capability of instant communication. No longer do dealerships have to wait for their ads to show up in local newspapers or TV ads to promote upcoming sales or promotions. Now they can instantaneously update their fans or followers about upcoming events and promotions. It is this instant communication that is so essential to dealerships and their social media efforts. Instead of sending direct mail pieces that may or may not be opened, dealers have a way to reach out to consumers, and track the success of their messages. This is most likely the reason why according to a report done by CNW Research, around 41% of dealers in the U.S. use social media sites like Facebook to promote their dealerships.

With their streamlined ability to reach out to consumers and promote brands, social media strategies should be a part of every dealership's digital marketing efforts.

Methods To Save Money When Tinting Car Windows

Do you want to get your car windows tinted but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars to do it? If this is what you are worried about, then know that you don't have to spend that much because there are some decent ways to save money. A lot of people think they need to go to a professional in order to get their car windows tinted, however, that is not always the case.

What a lot of people are doing these days in order to save a little bit of money is to use tint that is already cut to size and also spray on tint. These are both viable options that you can choose, however, you need to think about which one is going to look and work the best for you. One thing I recommend is that you don't use spray on tint if you have children because they could rub it off if they are always touching the windows. Also, there are more options below, so make sure you take a look.

Ways To To Save Money On Tint

Buy The Tint Yourself - If you plan on going to a professional, then make sure you buy the window tint yourself. You probably thought you had to use the tint the company has, however, that is not the case and you should avoid doing this if you can. The key here is to get the professional tint installer to go down as much as they can and then tell them you are going to buy your own tint, so they can deduct that amount as well.

Install Tint Yourself - If you want to save the most money, then you must install the tint yourself. By doing this you can save hundreds of dollars and get the same results. It might take you a little bit longer to do the full tint job, however, you will save money and that is the goal here. More and more people are deciding to tint car windows themselves in order to save money and you should too.

If you are looking for a clear-cut answer as to how much window tint will cost, then just know that everybody has a different pricing method, so there will never be a clear-cut answer. Just go to a local company and see what they will charge you to install tint on your car. After that you must to go somebody else and see what their price will be. The prices are going to be different but just know that this is what it will take to figure out who offers the best price around.

If you want to know how much window tint costs, then you must read this article. Also, if you have any questions as to how you can install your own window tint, then check out this site - www.HowToTintCarWindows.org.

Transmission: Automatic Vs Manual

Everyone has a different opinion on which is better between manual and automatic transmissions. Some look for convenience when they drive. Others look to be able to control a vehicle's performance. In either circumstance, it is just a driver's preference that makes the difference. However, in looking at the mechanics of this part of the car and how it works, there are some differences that you may not have given much thought to.

Fuel

As soon as you hear that there is a problem with the transmission, you start to panic. You know that the cost is going to be considerable because of the part's importance to how the car runs and its fuel efficiency. A manual typically uses less fuel while the automatic uses more. It has to do with the amount of control that the driver has in accelerating and slowing down using the gears.

Cost of a Vehicle

A manual transmission costs less than an automatic. It is considered to be less convenient because the driver is in charge of moving through the gears. It requires one hand on the wheel and one to shift. If you check out newer cars, you'll notice that the manuals are almost always less than the automatics. But typically, the decision to choose a manual or automatic transmission is not made based on the cost of the vehicle.

Cost of Maintenance and Repair

Because of the way a transmission is set up, a manual is easier to work on than an automatic. This means that it will take a technician less time to repair and in turn, the cost will be less. In older models, fluids need to be removed and replaced according to the manufacturer's specifications.

Learning to Drive

When a person learns how to drive, there are so many different factors that need to be taken into consideration. There are mirrors to check, a vehicle to steer, and navigating to the next location. The easiest way to learn how to drive is using an automatic. That way, shifting gears is taken out of the equation and allows the learner to concentrate on other aspects of driving.

A manual uses a stick shift to change the gears. In order to make the transition, the driver needs to press down on the clutch, located to the left of the brake. Every time the gears are moved, the pedal needs to be pressed. It is not always easy to learn the timing between pressing and letting off of the clutch.

Some parents insist that their children learn to drive both automatic and manual vehicles. That way, they are not limited in their selection of vehicles in the future. Even if someone has not driven a manual in a long time, it is something that comes back easily, much like riding a bike.

Mazda's SKYACTIV Technology - Light Years Ahead of Competition

SkyActiv: First Look

SKYACTIV is a system based on efficiency: efficient engines, smart transmissions, effortless chassis and streamlined and superior car body technology. And for a company that has recently been hitting the headlines for alarming reasons, Mazda is definitely turning up the heat in auto manufacturing technology. So what exactly is this technology?

Number One in Fuel Efficiency

It's common knowledge that fuel prices are at an all-time high; these days, you can barely cover 40miles per gallon on the road. Mazda is aware of this, and is doing its part in helping car owners save when it comes to gas pump prices. A lot of car manufactures have introduced fuel-efficient sedans and hatchbacks. However, Mazda is blazing the trail with its SKYACTIV technology. It encompasses original body frames, redesigned pistons, all designed to improve the vehicle's fuel use, making it viably competitive when compared to other hybrids. Mazda intends to boost fuel efficiency of all of its vehicles by 30% using SKYACTIV technology, which will see its debut with the Mazda2.

Mazda has a few things lined up in conjunction with this technology:

Use of Lighter Materials to build a lighter body: the SkyActiv body will be built from steel that is both lighter (8%) and stronger (30%). This will subsequently reduce vehicle weight by 14% and allow for a better transmission system.

Use of New Engines: SkyActiv engines will be categorized "SkyActive G" for gas engines and "SkyActive D" for diesel engines. Both having at least 40% power efficiency rating.

An adaptable chassis: this platform will likely form the backbone of everything, from next generation Mazda3 to the very light MX-5, giving the vehicles improved handling capabilities.

SKYACTIV D

This isn't your ordinary diesel engine. Mazda engineers have broken new technological ground in creating the world's lowest diesel-engine compression ratio of 14.0:1, achieving a further weight reduction. There has also been a reduction of piston weight by an amazing 25%, while cylinders are a lighter aluminum instead of the usual cast iron. SKYACTIV D technology not only eliminates critical roadblocks to low compression ratio diesels, but it also does this while realizing 20 percent better fuel economy when compared to current diesel engines in most cars today. As an added bonus, vehicles fitted with this technology will cost about the same price as cars in the current market.

SKYACTIV G

These are Mazda's next generation petrol engines. Using the same principle compression ratio as was used in SKYACTIV D, fuel consumption is set to fall by an astounding 15% to around the same rate a current diesel engine uses. The exhaust system has been redesigned into a '4-2-1′ type, which does a great job at capturing burnt gases, which in the end deals with compression knocking and high temperatures.

Evidently, Mazda has found a niche market thanks to the SKYACTIV technology, putting its range of vehicles one step ahead in the battle of the car companies.

With impressive technology and sleek wheels and center caps you can't go wrong with Mazda's latest and greatest. This article was brought to you by Britteny Bethencourt at http://www.Hubcaps.com

How to Get Paid for Advertising on Your Car

If you are looking for ways to make extra money on a regular basis, you have come to the right place. Did you know that you can get paid for placing an advertisement on your car and driving around like you normally do? Companies are willing to pay regular people for carrying around the city one of their adverts. And the average pay in this industry varies from $300 to $700 a month, for regular sized cars.

For instance, I get a little more than $700 per month for driving about 800 miles. You will usually get paid depending on the number of miles you drive on a monthly basis. Because of this, you might be tempted to lie about your average mileage, in order to get a higher salary. But I advise you not to do this, since you will probably get caught and your loss will be bigger than your gain.

In order to be eligible for advertising on your car, you must be at least 21 years old and you must have a valid driving license. Also, if you choose to have an advertisement placed on your car, you will have to use it as your primary car. You cannot just have the advertisement wrapped around your car and leave it in the garage.

Some factors that will influence your pay are:

1. Your monthly mileage.

This one is probably the most understandable factor. The more you drive around (to work, to the market etc.), the more exposure you will get. And this means bigger profits for the company you are advertising for.

2. The size of your car.

Again, it is obvious that a big car will provide more exposure and will bring in more clients.

3. Your driving record.

It would be bad advertising for a company to have an advertisement placed on a car involved in an accident, no matter how small. This is why companies tend to pay less money to people with a bad driving record.

So, now that you have the basic information regarding car advertising, there is no reason why you shouldn't go out there and find a company to advertise for. Browse around a little bit, find more than one offer and choose the one that suits you best. Car advertising contracts are usually valid for a period of 2 years, so making a bad choice now could have a pretty big impact on the profit you could make.

If you are interested in making this kind of money on a regular basis and want to avoid getting ripped off by scam networks or low paying companies, visit Car Wrap Advertising for more information. I don't own this website, but it was the best starting point I could find.

Drive A Car For Free - What You Need To Know

Someone can give you a free car to drive. Perhaps, it is only in your dreams where you thought this to be possible; nevertheless, it can actually happen in real life. There are companies which place advertisements on some vehicles or cars and look for reliable people to drive these cars for free. As you drive the car going to different destinations, you practically become a moving advertisement.

You have probably seen a lot of these car advertisements before. These vehicles usually have catchy colors and designs. To get your hands on these free cars, you cannot just walk inside a company building or office and ask for the keys. The process of hiring drivers to drive cars for free is typically handled by advertising agencies or marketing companies. These agencies provide the cars. You can possibly drive a brand new car or you may also be hired to drive your own vehicle wrapped with the advertisement for the company's products and services.

Why such advertisements on cars exist?

Advertising on billboards along highways and busy roads is limited. There are even some places where these advertisements are not allowed due to limited space and safety reasons. Therefore, to reach as many people as possible, these companies need to think of other ways to promote their products to the public. A great alternative way to advertise is to have a car wrapped in advertisements.

Two options can be implemented on car advertisements by the companies. One is to buy cars and wrap these cars with the ads for their products, goods and services; and then hire people to drive the vehicles. Nevertheless, buying a whole fleet of cars can be very costly. So another option is for the company to simply rent a space on a private car. With this option, the driver or owner of the car gets paid too. His earnings can even cover his fuel costs. To take part in this opportunity, check out for companies offering car wraps.

Participation in such programs or opportunities may be limited. In fact, you might even need some luck to succeed in getting hired to drive a free vehicle. There are certain requirements that you need to meet in order to be accepted in this opportunity. One is that you have to live within the area which the company is targeting to promote their products. The area where you live must also be populated, such as in the metropolitan area. Big college campuses are also ideal locations. You will also be required to be able cover great distances when driving (about at least 800 miles/month. Companies normally install GPS tracker on a vehicle to track the places you drive to and the number of miles you cover. The idea is to be able to expose the advertisements to as many people as possible; to let them crave and be interested with what they see through your car.

In driving free cars, you should consider another requirement. With the car wrapped in advertisements, you need to drive along specified routes and not just go on your own itineraries. You also need to be at least 18 years old to apply and be hired to drive for free. You would need a driver's license too. Companies will look into your driving records to see if you have ever committed traffic and road violations within the last several months.

Your online membership to Free Car Index will help you find opportunities to drive cars for free. A similar resource and program that help you get your free car sponsorship is For Free Cars.

Bathrooms Designs In Automobiles

Transport vehicles include automotive, trains, buses, airplanes and ships among others. All these can be divided into two main categories, which are public and private transport. At times, transporting from one place to another takes longer than the normal time, or is expected to take many hours, days, weeks and even months. Therefore, some of the facilities present at homes, schools, work and other establishments are built into these automobiles and especially bathrooms since they are necessary for purposes of hygiene.

The bathroom design largely depends on the type of automobile that is at hand. Bathroom facilities in public transport are often dirtier than those in the private sector. Private transport such as limousines, jets and yachts have been to have luxury facilities completely equipped with tubs, and at times even Jacuzzis.

RV bathroom design

When shopping for RVs, most people are influenced to go for models that offer right amount of dining, sleeping, cooking, storage and a family closet space. Even though, these features are vita, it is also important not to neglect other crucial segments of the RV that can contribute to your overall comfortable experience. For instance, the bathroom is the most under-rated area of the RV. Persons purchasing RVs for the first time ignore new bathroom ideas that are comfortable and stylish, only to realize they spend more time in that room than they actually thought.

The size, layout, location and features of this room should be among the most important considerations when purchasing an RV. Many new RVs have been traded in to dealers, because the owners found the toilet to be inadequate. The most criticized feature of an RV's toilet is it inconvenient location, the poor design of the shower stalls and the lack of storage for the toiletries and other things. In most of the RVs, the bathroom and shower areas have poor design and construction. One popular design is combining the shower and the tub, which requires the user to climb through a small opening while balancing on one foot.

What to look for

It is vital to consider the bathroom features when purchasing an automobile that has this facility. A great new design can add to the overall style and luxury of the automobile. On the other hand, a poor design can cause you a lot of misery. The first thing to consider is whether the place is roomy enough to hold even heavy person comfortably. The next thing to look out is the storage, which should be adequate to host all the family's toiletries. Check if it has a sizeable mirror, towel racks and heating ducts. It should also have a linen and towels closet located near the bathroom if not inside. The room should also be waterproof and strong built.

What Separates The Corvette From Other American Roadsters

The great American roadster debate, or more specifically, which car's the fastest, has been a seesaw battle between some of the biggest domestic automakers. Where one person utters "Corvette" or "Camaro", another counters with "Mustang" or "Shelby". And then someone might chime in with "Viper" or "GTO" or some other muscle car from the early 60's that, even in its classic condition could have a say in the matter.

Yet, the entire discussion should go further than just horsepower. Brand recognition, popularity and comfortability of the drive along with amenities should be accounted for as well. Which bucket seat is more suitable? Does one get greater gas mileage than the other one?

Those are just some of the pointers that should be made when trying to reason which American roadster has a bit more moxie than the other ones. While I might be a bit biased to the Corvette (although the Camaro technically is more of a classic roadster), there's more than enough merit to go with my argument.

Let's take a look at just a few of the specifications to help back up my point.

The Corvette is no stranger to awards, as are some of the competitors above, throughout the years. Automobile Magazine gave the first editions of the Corvette, the Sting Ray, a coveted spot in the Top 100 Coolest Cars. It's position was just above the Viper or the Porsche 911. And what I considered to be one of the coolest awards, the Corvette brand had shown such dependability that its 1999 model was voted "Best Engineered Car of the 20th Century" by the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Through it's six decades of tearing through the American (and worldwide) landscape, the Corvette's innovation and refinements have rode alongside as well. Think of it this way: the first edition rode impressively at around 270 hp while today's 2013 model's range somewhere in the vicinity of 505 hp or more, depending on model upgrades and such. All the while, they haven't sacrificed the dependability and exhilarating drive in the least.

The Corvette nation itself has a dedicated base around it and an even rabid dedication for worthy causes such as Corvettes Conquer Cancer, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where drivers from all over race in sponsored Corvette events and donate a portion of the proceedings.

The notoriety has many years on the Ford Mustang, which debuted in 1965... some 11 years after the first Corvette. Who said competition wasn't good for business? And the Mustang had many more tweaks to its body, engine build and overall drive, while the Corvette has essentially kept the same body mold (save for one generation, which was a classic, smaller build) while fine-tuning engines, increasing demand and providing drivers with one heck of a joy ride.

And again, even though the Mustang is technically a newcomer to the race against the Corvette, it was only by a mere 10 years and it's still had plenty of time to try and match or exceed the fame that the Corvette ushers in with every new model. But, to really break the discussion down, fans from both sides should test the other one's ride for a day, really get a feel for any differences and then be able to make a decision based off of that. What you'll most likely see is there aren't that many major changes with the feel or engines of these newer models, it's more of which sports car you've grown familiar with. And more often than not, it's likely that answer would be the Corvette.

What do you think? I'd be interested in other opinions on the matter.

Top Car Myths That Never Get Old

When you hear anything about cars, innovation usually finds its way in the discussion at some point. Or how engineers devised cars from the early 1900's with Model T's to much more interesting creations like hybrid cars, SUVs, heavy-duty trucks and high-performance sports cars... to name a few. Higher gas mileage and slick amenities would soon become the norm rather than the exception and the future tech of automobiles has seemingly just begun.

Yet, with all that innovation and determination to craft the finest automobile along the road, there comes some curious myths and rumors along the way. Some are funny. Others are ridiculous. And there's a select few that just make you scratch your head.

But whatever the case may be, there are plenty of myths to go around and all but confuse drivers on what to really believe. That's why I went ahead and put together this short list of some of the most (in)famous myths out there today.

1. Car auctions give you a better deal: Don't know where this one came about. Maybe it was from watching too much Antique Road Show or being fascinated with late-night ESPN clips of car shows. First of all, those road shows usually imply either one of two things: antique or exotic cars. Not your average car, but something that's won by the highest bidder.

And what about police auctions? Sure you might be getting a good deal on a car, but there's probably no CARFAX report conveniently inside nor do you know what the previous owner did to the car. And that's the main thing to debunk this myth: there's no assurance. None. Zip. Nada. You don't have the luxury of knowing if the car's been in a previous accident, and if you're bidding on a high-end car, chances are it's been restored in the past or the reliability of those old engine parts won't hold up nearly as much as a Certified used car will.

2. Clothes pins can cool off the fuel: Ummm, yeah I don't know where this one came from. Whoever thought it would be legit to "jimmy rig" the fuel line with clothes pins so that their fuel temperature would be under control might've been either really bored or watched too much Discovery Science channel.

3. Premium fuel for everybody!: I'll admit, when I was a teenager I fell for this one because my mother told me so because she had been lied to by someone before that. The very popular myth that premium fuel is vital for the average car is a complete fabrication. Just because a Mercedes or a Maserati run on it doesn't mean your 1979 Geo Prism is going to perform the same from it. Premium gas is for high-performance engines and is just a waste of money for every other regular engine. Next time, consult your vehicle owner's manual.

4. Red cars get pulled over all the time: I borrowed this one from Discovery's website on an article on the same topic and had to include it because it's so strange. And they wouldn't have written about it if there wasn't some hysteria about it previously. Why some drivers feel their red car's being targeted more than others is probably just some excuse they make because they have a lot of speeding tickets. Red, yellow, black, turquoise, teal, lime green... there's no discrimination against the color of your vehicle. Maybe it's just the fact that you have more of lead foot than the next person. Call me crazy.

5. Cold weather means you should warm your car up: I fell victim to this one also because I thought that since my car was a bit older in years that the engine needed that much more time to warm up and work properly. The truth of the matter is every car engine is built to function in the most extreme conditions. Just because it's ten degrees outside and snowing doesn't mean the engine is a frozen shell. Sure, the ignition might seem to click a bit slower than usual, but once it goes, the engine's alive and ready to go. The more time a car spends idling to warm up, the more fuel you're burning unnecessarily.

Many car myths are born because of people tinkering with things that don't need tinkering with. If it worked 1 out of 10 times, then it most likely gets passed down to a friend, who tells their friends and so on. Before you know it, articles like this one are created to defy those myths.

Buying A Vehicle From a Used Car Dealer

When you are looking for a replacement vehicle, you have two main options. You can either buy them fresh off the assembly line or you can buy them from a used car dealer. Either way, the best way to get a good one is to do your homework.

If you decide to take the used vehicle route, the first thing you should do is know exactly what you can afford and make a commitment not to spend more than that amount. Once you know what you will be able to pay each month, research your financing options, which can either be through your dealership or through a financial institution. Keep in mind that you will need to pay for your tax, title, licensing, insurance, and interest if you choose to finance your vehicle. Once you know what you can afford, don't get interested in vehicles that are near the maximum as you may go over it after you get those things added.

Often the first mistake is made at the used car lot because you fall in love with a vehicle that does not meet your daily needs. To find the right vehicle determine what you need it to do. For example, if you need to have room for several children, then you may be looking for a mini van or SUV, or if you want to haul things, you may be looking for a pick-up truck. You should also make a list of features you desire, such as a sun roof, DVD player, good gas mileage, or captain's chairs.

Now you need to find out what your current vehicle is worth. You can do this by researching websites such as Edmunds or Kelley Blue book where you can evaluate the condition of your vehicle so that you know what your trade in value is at your used car dealer or what value to put on it if you choose to sell it to a private buyer.

Any vehicle that you are interested in, you should have a "background check" performed on your vehicle to make sure that it has not been in any accidents, walk around the vehicle to make sure that there are not any major scratches or dents in it, and take it for a test drive so that you can make sure that it drives well and does not emit any dark exhaust.

Finally, you need to negotiate on the price of the vehicle. Your negotiations should be based on the value that you have discovered through your research. Usually after some haggling, you can get a price below the posted value.

If you have done your homework before you begin the car buying process, you will be pleased with it and you can build a relationship with your used car dealer for years to come.

If your precious vehicle is becoming worn out and needs a replacement, visit a Allentown used car dealer  for great deals and reliable products. Learn more at  http://www.jdbyrider-allentown.com.

The Audi Valvelift system is another feature only found in Audi vehicles. This feature takes the valve placement and puts the power where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. It takes the air pressure and ensures that air management remains at the optimal level. This feature typically reduces fuel consumption by up to 7%, making it a more efficient and powerful vehicle.

Negotiating Effectively With a Used Car Dealer

The used car dealer is often thought to be synonymous with a scammer or a shyster. They are often believed to be dishonest and not professionals with integrity. However this is not always the case and when looking for a second hand motor vehicle you should not assume that all used car salesmen are cut from the same cloth. Some are very honest and hardworking people. To be on the safe side though you should always conduct thorough research.

It is the uneducated buyer who is most likely to fall prey to an unscrupulous used car dealer with dollar signs in his eyes. If an unsuspecting person with no prior knowledge of cars or of what he or she should be asking or looking for shows up on a used car lot and gets all of his/her information from a salesman then the potential that he/she will spend money needlessly is very much a concern.

Don't let it happen to you!

You need to be diligent and very thorough when it comes to doing your research. You do not need to be a car expert but you need to have enough general information to know when a used car dealer is giving you misleading or false information. For instance some car salesmen will play up the advantages of a vehicle but then will try to downplay its bad points. Take the time to have a working knowledge of the vehicle you wish to purchase.

Doing research means perusing auto reviews as well as consumer reports to find out what the car has to offer, both on the up side and the down side. Learn about the specifications of the car you are interested in buying. The more you know and the more you make it known to the salesman that you know the greater the chance that you will receive the price that is within the right range for you.

When you come across an automobile that you want to purchase make sure you get its vehicle identification number (VIN) and then obtain a free car history report. Make sure that you use a reliable service to uncover whether the automobile has had any problems worth knowing about before you commit to buying it. AutoCheck would be a good service to use. If the used car dealer brushes aside any discussion about the benefits inherent in a car history report then you should be a little concerned and wary of his honesty.

When in the market for a used vehicle it helps to keep your options open and to not have a narrow mind. If you have educated yourself about a car and you have made use of a car history report then you can let the used vehicle salesperson know that his place is not the only shop in town but that you are aware of the fact that you have other options. Be friendly and polite about it but you also need to be firm about your position.

Auto Accident Lawyer: Will You Get Money for Lost Wages?

When you hire an auto accident lawyer, you can expect him or her to try to get you some compensation for the expenses related to the crash. One common example is medical bills, since you should not have to pay for them. However, you will also likely get compensated for the time you had to take off work while you recovered.

The most obvious reason for this is that not everyone gets paid when they miss work. If you do not get paid time off at your job, you will definitely need to be compensated for the money you missed out on, especially if you had to take weeks to recover. Missing this amount of work can be financially devastating to anyone, so your auto accident lawyer will try to get you the amount of money you would have made at your job on the days you took off.

Of course, many people get some sick days or personal days to take off, and they still get paid for them. If this is the case for you, it does not mean you will not get compensated for time off your job. Though you are not technically missing any wages, you had to use your paid days off while you recovered. Since you only get a certain amount per year, this means that if you get sick or need a personal day in a few months, you may lose money then when you have no more paid days off. If you do not have the money in savings to do this, you may end up having to go to work while sick, which you should not be required to do. This is why your auto accident lawyer will probably still try to get you some compensation.

Additionally, when you take a lot of time off work, you risk your job. Not every employer is very understanding about giving employees time to recover. Though your boss might not be legally allowed to fire you for taking time off to recover, he or she could come up with an excuse to let you go if your recovery time negatively affected productivity. This is why your auto accident lawyer will likely try to get you compensation for lost wages since your position could have been in jeopardy due to the crash. Of course, if you do lose your job over your injuries, your attorney can often help you sue either your employer or the person at-fault for the crash, depending on the evidence you have.

No matter the circumstances, you need to hire an auto accident lawyer. He or she can help you recover any lost wages. Even if you have not technically lost cash during your recovery period, talk to an attorney to find out if you are eligible to get compensated for the days you took off.

A local Vermont auto accident lawyer  can take the person responsible for your injury to court and get you the compensation you deserve. Find out more at  http://www.promotingjustice.com.

Top Priced Cash for Trucks

Getting cash for trucks is something that people do all the time. If a person has an unwanted vehicle of almost any kind, the person can call a company to come pick it up. These companies are willing to buy almost any type of vehicle or piece of equipment and they will pay on the spot. These businesses need old vehicles. They take these and they salvage them. They might use them for parts or they might rebuild them and sell them. They might also take them and scrap them out because they are made of metal. Scrap metal is valuable and companies like this have a lot of it. There are benefits of selling your unwanted vehicles to these companies. The main benefit is the money that you will receive.

If you have an old truck sitting on your property, you may want to clean up your yard and getting rid of it is one step.

When you decide this you may not know what to do with it. You certainly will not want to pay someone to take it away, because even though it does not run, it is still worth money. The metal and parts it contains could be valuable to someone else. This is why there are salvage companies that pay cash for trucks. They want this stuff. These parts and scrap metal are worth money to them. They will pay a person for any type of vehicle, and they will then take it back to their yard and begin processing it.

When you call a company like this, they will come to the location that you specify. They will bring the right type of equipment needed to remove the old car. They will load it up and they will then give you money. They pay cash for trucks and for many other types of things too. They will also provide towing services for free. You will not be charged anything to have it removed. They will pay you. The amount they pay you covers all of their expenses and that is why you will not have to pay. Remember, your old cars and equipment is valuable to them. They need these items and they will buy almost any of them. This includes forklifts, trailers and much more.

As you can see, there are benefits to getting cash for trucks. While the money is the biggest and most obvious benefit, the other benefit is the convenience. If your car gets stranded and you cannot drive it home, you can have the company pick it up for you wherever it is at, for no fee. If it is in your yard, the benefit is that you can begin cleaning up old things in your yard. You will not have to do any of the work either. Don't Be Afraid to Take Your Vehicle in for Transmission Maintenance

Everyone is so quick to stress the importance of periodic brake inspections and oil changes that many people tend to forget about their vehicle's transmission. How many times have you been informed that you need to have a transmission flush if you have a newer model car? Many mechanics will also recommend a flush for older model cars that have over 100,000 miles on the odometer, even though it is not necessary since it can cause your car to have performance issues later on. No matter what the age is of your particular car, if you have trouble getting your car to shift into gear at any time, you need to take your vehicle to a transmission repair shop.

Many people have a fear of automobile problems. They seem to think that the moment they have a problem, instead of going to a transmission repair shop they would be better off purchasing another car. Now if you happen to have money and spend it freely, then you may not have a problem with this scenario, but if you are like most people, you may have gotten attached to your vehicle and before the current situation had no intentions of replacing it any time soon.

Transmission maintenance is not as expensive as you may think. Many times you may not even need a new transmission. The best thing you can do in a situation like this is to take it to a repair shop so they can determine what the problem is so you can get it fixed.

In the shop, before any repairs are done, you will be informed of what the problem is and what needs to be done to resolve it. If it is the worst case scenario where you will need to have a new transmission, you will have the option to decide if you want to purchase a brand new or rebuilt transmission.

Since most vehicles need this kind of repair when it is least convenient, many people opt for the rebuild option. It is often significantly cheaper than its newer counterpart. Many shops will provide a warranty for rebuilt products but they are not as long as the new ones. These warranties typically cover labor and damages directly related to the rebuilt transmission. Make sure you learn about all of the differences between the new and rebuilt before you make a decision.

Once you have taken your vehicle in for transmission maintenance to have had it inspected and repaired, you will feel as if a great burden has been lifted off of your shoulders. Ask anyone who has ever been in a similar situation and they will tell you that it is one of the most stressful car repair situations beside those involving collisions. You will feel less stressful about driving your vehicle and may even develop a fresh appreciation for your car. You will also gain more life and performance from your car, just remember to keep it properly serviced and take your vehicle in for transmission maintenance periodically.

A Cincinnati OH transmission maintenance  shop can help if you need repairs. Take a look at:  http://www.transmissionrepaircincinnati.net.

Using a Vehicle for Your Mobile Business

Your vehicle becomes your workplace

In Australia, especially Victoria, your use of the vehicle for business purposes makes it a business workplace. What does this mean? Well I am glad that you asked.

As a workplace it means that you need to comply with;

no smoking while in your vehicle
a first aid kit must be inside
if you take other people in it, they are your responsibility and insurances need to cover them at all times
your vehicle must be maintained at all times and in safe working order
a vehicle checklist must be used to audit the condition of your vehicle

On top of these requirements you also need to include detailed budgets to really manage the costs involved.

Budgeting for vehicle expenses

Petrol is a standard expense and will often already be managed by using receipts and log books. What is not included in most budgets is the fact that running a business vehicle will cost at least $5,000 per year for a 4-cylinder car and more if larger capacity.

Some of the additional costs include;

Full comprehensive insurance incase you hit or damage property or people. If not, they can seek compensation from your business assets instead of just your personal assets.
Total road assistance cover to prevent you losing days worth of business if the vehicle breaks down.
Service costs will be required, and to minimise problems with your insurance it is wise to use qualified mechanics, or you will risk something being blamed on your lack of expertise.
Driving a car for business use will double or triple your road travel meaning that your tyres will need replacing more often

Carrying products in the vehicle

Depending on what products you carry, you will be required to install shields or restraints to prevent objects from moving around and hitting the driver. In some extreme cases I have seen painters driving along with a 12' ladder hanging out the passenger window risking a hit on a pedestrian as the car made its way to the job.

In addition, the different chemicals in products need to be stored separately needing enclosed containers for travel. You cannot just throw tins of paint in the boot for example, without some form of container or box to limit the chance of breakage causing some problems on the road.

Security systems may be needed

If you carry tools or expensive equipment and your vehicle is marked as a business tradesman or similar use, it will become a target for thieves.

You will need more than just locking the doors. You will need to consider a security alarm and immoboliser to prevent others from taking your business asset.

This is because most insurers will not pay if you haven't done the minimum needed to protect your assets. If your business use increases the risks of theft and you have failed to notify your insurer of the business use, they do not have to pay you for your loss.

Do We Have Unlimited Freedom?

Freedom is a universal sentiment which we all relish. We all have a craving for freedom. Freedom to enjoy life according to our values, preferences, selections, interests, fantasies, whims and fancies etc. is something we all desire. We all have idiosyncrasies and we want the freedom to enjoy them too.

In USA, there is even a Statue of Liberty. Article 21 of Constitution of India confers upon its citizens, fundamental right to life and liberty. I presume that this must be true of constitutions of other nations also. Ironically, the fundamental right to liberty is ambiguous in its statement with inbuilt contradiction. It is ambiguous because it leaves freedom undefined and moreover, freedom can never be total. It is self-contradictory because each and every law is a constraint on human freedom. Twentieth century has witnessed several social movements designated as freedom movements. Teenagers can often be seen singing the tune "This is my life". Spouses can often be seen breaking homes to enjoy personal freedom. Their craving for personal freedom prevails over the need to have homes. Even women liberation movements have moved in the direction of freedom unlimited.

So freedom is individually, socially and legally recognized sentiment. Freedom is easy to dream but difficult to realize. Because of conflict of interests in human society, one has to struggle throughout one's life to achieve and sustain freedom. Human freedom is subject to several constraints.

1. Material constraints: One can enjoy one's freedom only from the material position one is holding at the given moment, like Nero by virtue of his material position had the liberty to enjoy burning Rome. Since material position evolves over a period of time, hence historical or time dependent constraints to freedom are inevitable.

2. Natural Laws: As stated before that every law is a constraint on human freedom, same is true of natural laws as well. Nature does not function in derogation of its laws. Hence relevant natural laws determine scope, limits and potential of available freedom.

3. Man made laws: Law in human society, in the absence of proper understanding of its nature has evolved into a plethora of mutually conflicting principles or a jig saw puzzle upon which judiciary is supposed to adjudicate in the final analysis. Therefore in the absence of proper definition of fundamental rights, all the fundamental rights are subject to descriptive and narrative, event specific definitions evolved by the esteemed judiciary. Even the well-defined legal rights are subject to compliance with large number of so-called procedural laws, administrative laws, contractual obligations, customs and usage, systemic infirmities etc. Hence no legal right is absolute; it is always subject to a plethora of attendant conditions.

4. Rationality: The general demand for rationality as we see in human conduct is because nature is self-organizing. Anything can exist and function within the constraints of some harmonized 'order' and 'system' only. Teilhard de Chardin has summed up the general nature of organization in nature as "a distinct centre radiating at the core of systems of centers". It implies that nature is organized into self- sustaining units or harmonious wholes and each and every unit has to exist in harmonious interaction with surrounding units. But contradictions' being inherent in nature such as desire for freedom is antithetical to the need for discipline. Therefore, for anything to exist and function, it has to dynamically and harmoniously resolve all the contradictions it faces all the time. In day-to-day living in human society it transforms into test of reasonableness of conduct, fair-play and justice.

Therefore, even though emotionally we all stand for unlimited freedom but in fact it is a mirage. We need to understand limits to our freedom as well its scope. We must learn the manner in which freedom is to be enjoyed. We can enjoy our freedom only by following the path of reasonableness, fairness and justice. Otherwise, we are bound to run into additional contradictions and controversies which besides being detrimental to our freedom are bound to be self-destructive and socially disruptive. It demands a perpetual intellectual effort. So the sentiment of freedom can't be enjoyed without commensurate intellectual efforts. This is precisely the reason that if you are in conflict with a fool, you don't have to hang the fool, the fool will hang himself. You only have to facilitate his movement in the right direction.

Human freedom has as many facets as diversity of human activities, wants, desires and duties. Material definition of freedom is bound to be context dependent but the underlying essence has to be dynamic balancing of various factors and need for harmony in pursuance of defined goals and objectives. Its determination may often demand intellectual efforts besides sentiment of freedom. So, merely granting fundamental right to freedom or constructing Statute of Liberty or echoing the sentiment of freedom time and again by celebrating Independence Day year after year is not enough. It requires perpetual intellectual efforts.

To circumvent difficulties due to constraints upon human understanding, this task has often been performed by great thinkers of the past as well as the present in the shape of religious prescriptions, legal principles, morals and ethics etc. even if with imperfections.

In general, in material terms, freedom only means freedom to perform one's duties without fear of repercussions or reservations. Duties are context dependent and therefore may vary according to nature of relationship, faiths, beliefs, religious prescription, peer group prescriptions, ethics and morals determined by professional bodies, law whether natural or man-made etc.

Therefore deprivation of freedom only means preventing an individual from enjoying performance of his duties. It does not and it can't mean freedom to act according to one's whims and fancies or without any rhyme and reason.

If you wish your partner would change, and have already asked, pleaded or begged for these changes to be made, it's time to stop. Not only will this fail to bring about the changes you desire, it will actually hurt your relationship! Instead of focusing on what is wrong in your relationship, taking time to appreciate what is right can dramatically improve the way you feel about your partner AND your relationship.

Lots of us take our partner (and our relationship) for granted. Our significant other is just 'there': living alongside of us and doing whatever they do. Or maybe it goes beyond taking him/her for granted. Maybe you're locked in conflict and actively dislike your partner. You may be reading this and thinking, "Gratitude and appreciation?! For MY partner? No way! Not when she/he doesn't _______!"

For many people, it takes a crisis to feel how important our loved one really is to us. It may be only after the death of someone that we remember how precious life is. When we are in touch with the sanctity of life, it can shift the way we feel about our loved ones. We recognize their importance and feel more appreciative. For some, the crisis is not death, but illness. I've heard cancer survivors (shockingly) say that they are grateful for their illness because it made them feel grateful for the relationships they already have.

But it doesn't have to take illness or loss for you to learn to appreciate your partner. You don't have to continue to live mindlessly, without really being present for all the goodness that already exists in your relationship. A shift in your thinking or a change in what you decide to notice can dramatically affect the way you feel. In partnerships, shifting HOW you see your partner will absolutely affect how you feel in the relationship AND will affect the relationship itself.

Let's shift how you see your partner. What do you feel grateful for about who your partner is? What is good about him/her just as he/she is? What do you love about...

his/her strengths
his/her looks and sexiness
special or simple, but beautiful, things he/she does or says
his/her character or personality?

Was this a shift for you? Do you allow yourself to see your partner's strengths? How would things change if you could open your eyes to the wonderful parts of this person? What if you could then express your gratitude to her/him?

It's likely that you've waited, asked, begged, and pressured your partner to change. How successful has that been for you? My guess is: not very. While it would be nice if our partner were to change to become exactly what we'd like him/her to be, it's not likely to happen, no matter how much we beg. Instead, transformation comes from your choice to see, think and do things differently. It's you. You hold the tools to transform your relationship. Acknowledging your partner's strengths is one of these tools.

How can you acknowledge what you are grateful for about your partner?

tell him/her what you notice, especially at the moment you notice it
thank him/her with spoken word, written word, or touch
decide NOT to include a reference to a time he/she wasn't like that
be an advocate for your partner by telling others what's good about him/her
give a prayer of thanks for having this person in your life (warts and all

Giving thanks for the goodness that exists will transform you, the relationship, and, ultimately, your partner.

Prodigals: Components of a Healthy Parent to Adult-Child Relationship

Are you wondering what your relationship should be like with your adult child? When you raise your minor children, you focus on training, discipline, and obedience. When your child becomes an adult, the relationship between you changes. If your child is a prodigal because he/she is doing things you feel aren't good or is more estranged from you then you would like, your focus is probably on what you would like to see changed. Even if your child isn't living like you want, you can strive to have these components of a healthy parent to adult-child relationship:

Mutual Respect - Both have respect for each other and treat each other in a way that values and honors each other and respects each other's boundaries.
Autonomy and Independence - Both have the ability to act according to their convictions, beliefs, likes, needs, wants, and goals.
Self-examination - Both know themselves and their strengths and weaknesses and can self-examine to identify faults.
Influence - Both speak and act in a way that seeks to exert positive influence on the other person without being controlling.
Care/Interest - Both care about and are interested in each other as people and demonstrate that caring in their actions.
Relationship/Companionship - Even though you will always be "the parent," when you are both adults, there is a shift toward enjoying each other's company mutually.
Communication - Both have the ability to communicate about problems, solve problems, and speak and hear the truth in love.
Acceptance - A mature relationship comes to a place of mutual acceptance where both overlook the things they don't like and choose instead to offer unconditional love and acceptance.

When your adult child comes to you and asks for help, it changes the relationship and puts you into a parenting role where you think you should be able to have more control. It is best to help your adult child as you would help another adult. Decide what you are willing to do and under what conditions, accepting who your child is, then give it without controlling and intervening. This gives in a way that acknowledges your child's independence.

God treats us as individuals who have the freedom to make our own choices. He seeks to influence but not control. He enjoys a relationship with us. He accepts us as we are, cares about us, and speaks openly and truthfully to us. He allows us to learn from our mistakes and to grow at our own pace. We can model our relationship with our adult children after God's with us.

Feminism, Woman's True Nature, Persecution and Subjugation: Restoring the Female Principle

That wonderful old matriarch of Jungian psychotherapy, Marie-Louise von Franz, used to say that Western civilization put a little gnome on every woman's shoulder to tell her that she's wrong, that her work's no good and that she's worthless.

The nature of woman is always at odds with the male-oriented world. The naturalness of women is in the expression of their true nature in a milieu where that is considered threatening and heretical to conventional values.

In recent decades various schools of thought have arisen which comprise the women's movement. The different feminisms range from the radical philosophies of the feminist separatists to the watered-down feminism made popular by the mainstream media, which has done its best to weaken the revolutionary voice of true feminism.

True feminism confronts the appalling and horrendous history of the suppression and persecution of women over the last two to three thousand years. The legacy of shameful events, such as the systematic persecution and genocide of women healers and herbalists as witches over hundreds of years, remains with us today in the continued treatment of women, and by association children, as inferior beings.

There are no complete records of the numbers of women who were killed as witches. However, in Matilda Joslyn Gage's book, Woman, Church and State (2nd ed; New York: Arno Press 1972, p.247, edition first published 1893) we have this startling estimate: "It is computed from historical records that nine millions of persons were put to death for witchcraft after 1484, or during a period of 300 years, and this estimate does not include the vast number who were sacrificed in the preceding centuries upon the same accusation. The greater number of this incredible multitude were women."

Felix Morrow, in the foreword to Montague Summers's The History of Witchcraft and Demonology (Secaucus, N.J.: Citadel Press, 1971, p. viii.), tells us that, "The figures of scholars estimating the numbers of witches put to death vary enormously, from 30,000 to several million and it is really impossible to know, given the records of the times, but it is clear that substantial numbers were put to death."

Here's one of the most recent statements I can find regarding the persecution of witches during the most intensive period, i.e. the 16th to 18th centuries: "Over the entire duration of the phenomenon of some three centuries, an estimated total of 40,000 to 60,000 people were executed."

It is as if some reduction in the estimation has been agreed upon and over time the previously alleged figures which are comparable with the Jewish Holocaust have been reduced to a figure comparable to annual car crash fatalities (in the USA) or junk food associated deaths (in the UK).

Is this a conspiracy, a result of misguided cynicism or merely a case of time heals all wounds?

Curiously, the Holocaust of World War II has a second parallel with the persecution of witches. The figure commonly given is eleven million, but that figure is considered far too low.

In spite of the alleged progress toward equality of the sexes, women continue to be insidiously denied a place in society. In concept and treatment, women still suffer from the lack of credit and acknowledgment, and continue to suffer subjugation and violence all around the world in a variety of ways in different cultures.

These cultural mores are reflected in the lives of individual women in the total separation of themselves from virtually all that is natural, intrinsic and innately female. For a woman to discover her true self she must step outside the normal parameters of everything she has learnt to accept and be defined by.

Patriarchal society needs to open to new paradigms and hand over as much of the leadership as is humanly possible to women. The whole conceptual structure of our lives must be transformed and handed over to the female principle in both women and men. Finally we need to return the power the patriarchy stole from women, as Mary Daly put it -the power of naming.

The Life of a Boring Rebel

Do any of you have that little inner voice? I swear I've tried to shake it over the years, particularly during my boring youth. But I've really come to rely on that voice the older I get. Mine never really gives me a bum steer - not really. I might not get it at the time, but I usually figure out why it told me to do what it did eventually. Mine is very structured (surprise!) and at times a rebel.

I think I have split personality voice actually. My voice will tell me to hurry and get to work as early as I can - but then on the way to work, it tells me to go find a Starbucks. Anyone else's voice do that? I mean, which one do I listen to? My gut says listen to the one that says go early to work but I really like the one that says "who cares, your day will be much more productive with a cup of good coffee."

I think I need to listen to the rebel voice more don't you? Maybe that would help my life to become more audacious and fun. I think I'm struggling with how I can have more fun but still 'hold down the fort' and manage my responsibilities. That's an art that my gut says will take a great deal more practice.

The times in my life that I listened to that 'rebel' voice though, definitely led me down a path that I hope to never see again. I dated a guy that was SO outside the realm of normality for me, I'm surprised my friends didn't do an intervention! I took a job that was really a bad fit for me... but I took it anyway and threw caution to the wind. I was miserable and was actually relieved when they laid me off due to poor sales. Usually fate helped me out when I made bad decisions... sometimes it took a while. So yes, I've had my share of stupid, 'rebel' moments.

Now I think I want to have smart rebel moments. I'm not sure what those are yet, but I'll definitely look into it. I need to mix it up a bit and do the unexpected. Ever just want to wear something that so wasn't 'you' or just be late for a meeting that you don't want to go to? (Boy, even my rebel moments are boring. Sheesh... anyone want to tutor me on being more of a rebel?)

In the meantime, I'll stick with my structure and maybe go to Starbucks before work once in a while. Baby steps my friends, baby steps. Happy Friday Ya'll!

Home-Based Online Business Success Tips - Two Ways to Make Money Online Fast

Are you looking to make money online - working from home? Maybe you've tried a few things and they haven't worked too well. Others just take too long to implement - or they involve too much of a learning curve. Read on for two strategies that can bring you results quickly.

Below, you'll learn about two strategies that work for newcomers and more experienced marketers alike, especially when you're in a hurry to make money.

1) Sell Your Services

The fastest way to generate cash flow is to provide services to online business owners and marketers. It involves time, but if you take inventory of which services you might be able to provide, you'll be able to get money into your PayPal account quickly.

Examples for services are writing, editing, transcribing, link building, article submission, and many more. If you're skilled at designing graphics or websites, you can easily find clients. But even less flashy tasks find happy takers. Where will you find your customers? On relevant forums and on freelancer websites.

The drawback of selling your services is that they can take up a lot of your time. So you may want to mix things up a little, develop skills or services that pay really well, and also look towards the other two techniques for some of your income as well.

2) Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing means you'll market other people's products for a cut of the action. For example, if you know a product you like, you can recommend it to your friends as well as to your list, if you have one, and when someone makes a purchase, you get a commission.

The thing about affiliate marketing is that making a real income with it requires a certain amount of skill. However, there are now ways to get you started quickly...

The key to affiliate marketing success is knowing how to go about it, and doing it the right way. So what's the right way? It involves several parts - you need to get your offer in front of the right people, and you need them to take action.

Both of these can be a challenge, but all the right people seeing the offer won't do you any good unless you can inspire them to take action. So the last bit is the key...

One of the most effective techniques for affiliate marketing success is to create an ethical bribe, i.e., a special report, that provides value while also pre-selling the offer. In a second step, you give this report away in exchange for your prospects' name and email address.

Finally, you follow up with them, further enticing them to take advantage of your offer, and answering any questions that they might have about it.

The cool thing about affiliate marketing with this system is that it works, provided you pick the right product. Want to know more about it? Simply request your FREE report here: http://www.commissionsmadeeasy.info

Good Tips for Converting Protected Blu-ray Files

Music and movie lovers have an extensive collection of favorites which they play on their DVD player. Many of these are often in Blu-ray format because of the high quality and definition it provides. The problem arises when you want to listen or watch them on a computer without a special drive for playing this format. In most cases you will need to rip the files if you do not have a Blu-ray player application. You will need to have follow the correct procedure or face the possibility of losing the quality associated with the original files.

The first and most obvious prerequisite will be to have a blue ray drive installed onto the computer you are going to use for converting the files. Without such a drive, your PC will not be able to read the disk. The ripping software you choose will also have to be able to read the disk.

Then you will need to decide on the software to use for the process. There are quite of few options when it comes to choosing your software. The software you choose will depend on the procedure you want to follow. A good two step procedure that works well uses MakeMKV as ripper software to convert the Blu-ray into MKV format. This is then followed by the encoding process which can be done with a program like Handbrake.

An important addition which is also useful is a large capacity storage device. The initial ripping process produces a high quality MKV file at 1080p. These files can quite large so that you will definitely benefit in investing in a large capacity drive. The ripping process usually takes about 30 minutes.

During the encoding process you will be able to decide if you want to keep the default 1080p resolution of the original Blu-ray or not. If space is a problem, Handbrake is able to produce an HD quality output by deceasing the output to 720p. This is something you can experiment with and see which scenario suits your situation best. By decreasing the resolution for 1080p to 720p, the final size on the encoded file is reduced by half.

The Blu-ray format is renowned for its clarity and sound quality. Sometimes there is the need to take some of your favorites on the road with you where a Blu-ray player is not available. By making a few calculated decisions you can produce great quality ripped files with HD quality, without using enormous amounts of disk storage space.

Stopping Foreclosure Through Bankruptcy or Loan Modifications or Both

One of the common questions I get from my clients is if they should continue their loan modification packet or just file Chapter 13 bankruptcy to stop the pending foreclosure. This is a tricky answer for most of my clients. Why? It depends on where they are in the loan modification process and how serious is their mortgage lender in trying to process the modification. Please note that just because you are working on a loan modification with your mortgage lender does not mean that the foreclosure process is in limbo. Most of the times, the foreclosure attorneys are still actively pursuing foreclosure on your home even though you are working on the loan modification with your mortgage lender. I cannot tell you how many potential clients have come to me with a shocked look on their face because they assumed the foreclosure process would stop once they mailed in their loan modification.

What is an alternative plan? Ask the mortgage lender if they can put a moratorium or halt on the foreclosure process while you work on your loan modification. If they say yes, write their name and number down and stay in contact with your County Equity Judge to make sure there is no sale date pending on your property. The other alternative is to go ahead and file Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and then file for a loan modification. This will give you additional time to organize both a successful Chapter 13 plan to deal with your other creditors and to finish your loan modification packet. For some weird reason, I have had clients that were denied loan modifications prior to filing bankruptcy and were later approved after the bankruptcy filing. While I cannot promise similar results for you, it does appear that many of the mortgage lenders are trying hard to get bankruptcy filers to submit modification packets. Procedurally, your attorney will most likely have to fax a letter to your mortgage lender after your bankruptcy has been filed giving them permission to deal with you directly in order to complete your packet.

Finally, I want to stress that many of the successful packets that I am seeing are from families that are politely calling every other day to check on the status of their modification packet. Many of the unsuccessful packets are from those that send in their packets and never make any calls to check on the status. Please note that the mortgage lenders are notorious for losing documents. The clients that are constantly checking on the status of their packets are being rewarded.
